HIGH QUALITY, ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY AND LONG-LASTING FINISHING MATERIAL
The production technology is based on heating the wood up to 200 °C. We mainly work with pine wood, but other timbers are also available for individual orders.
Rot resistance – reduced haemicellulose
Dimensional stability – reduced swelling
Low thermal conductivity – ~20-25% lower, ideal for saunas and energy efficient housing
Resin free – cleaner surface treatment, user friendly
It is most commonly used for housing exterior – cladding and decking, thought becoming a popular choice for saunas as well. Thanks to its advantages, it is suitable for environments with high humidity levels.
The advantages of thermally modified wood remain even if you do not choose to tint it. Over the years, the UV finish of thermo-wood will “wear off” and micro-cracks may appear in the wood, but it will not rot and will retain its dimensional stability.
